I'd prefer to have the ability to have this type of application on the right hand side of the blog as a permanent feature. As it is I can only see it's use in highlighting books that are topical and used within a reader's advisory blog for instance because it disappears down the page as each new blog entry is made.

You can play around a little with the design of you blog and move things arond quite a bit to make the look and feel quite different, Its really easy and totally reverible if you don't like your new design.
